Danish Indie Jazz
OTOOTO (Japanese for sound) is the newest branch of Danish Indie Jazz. Formed in 2019 by Jonas Due(tp) and Oilly Wallace(s) as a melting pot of five rising stars, the group quickly gained attention from broadcasting stations and reviewers.
The sound of OTOOTO is defined by feather-light and lyrical melodies parred with the characteristic sound of vintage synth Juno 106.
Add to that a neosoul/R&B groove and "voila"! The songs all spark a sense of hope and joy and are unfolded in a harmonious and playful way.
On May 21st 2021, OTOOTO released their debut album "This Love is for You". The album gained great recognition from radio stations and reviewers from around the world and quickly resulted in a summer packed with shows all over Denmark.
OTOOTO is in many ways a gumbo presenting five well-known jazz figures in a new and fresh way.
